An Opportunity in Affluence

New Jersey has a lot of affluent neighborhoods. The latest American Community Survey ranked the state second in median household income at $71,637. The title of richest part of New Jersey belongs to Hunterdon County with a median household income of $105,880. Meanwhile, Morris and Somerset Counties aren't far off with $97,979 and $98,571, respectively.

With bank accounts like those, surely a bathroom remodel or roofing replacement will fit their budget. A high household income is good news for contractors because it means people have more money to spend on the secondary expenses. At this point, you should quickly seize the moment by marketing your brand to those who need a major makeover.

Your website will be the spearhead. It should contain all the information that prospects will need to find their man for the job. Some of the most essential parts of a local contractor's website are the blog and gallery. The blog is where you upload your useful content: industry news, useful tips, press releases—you name it.

The gallery is where you post pictures of your past projects, if any. As the old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words." They'll probably do more of the talking than your blogs, but upload both pictures and words anyway. As another old saying goes, "two heads are better than one."
